About Us

Established in 1893 by Tollef Sanderson, the Harmony State Bank has always been located within the main business district of Harmony, Minnesota, ensuring that our staff remains dedicated to the economic well-being of the community in which we live and serve.

In 1956, the Harmony State Bank and First National Bank of Harmony consolidated their banking operations, with the Harmony State Bank becoming the surviving financial institution under the ownership of David Toussaint.

Harmony State Bank was purchased in 1958 by the Norris Hanson family who owned and operated the bank until 1965, when it was sold to the Leonard Skaalen family, who operated the family owned bank until 1987.

Since then the Jerome and Barbara Bushman family have continued to own and operate First Southeast Bank as a truly local and community minded bank.

Throughout our 100+ years of service to our community, we at First Southeast Bank have taken pride on maintaining the family owned philosophy of ensuring that our decisions are made locally for the benefit of our community and customers.
