June is Dairy Month

June is dairy month and it brings lots of excitement to First Southeast Bank as ice cream is a treat to many.  We at First Southeast Bank know dairy farmers work hard to bring us the highest quality dairy products.   We show our support to the Dairy Farmers by having a day serving ice cream!  At different times in June, the Fillmore County Dairy Truck parks at both the Canton and Harmony locations and serves milk shakes.  All in all, it’s a fun day that is enjoyed by lots of people.

Canton Day Off

Canton Day Off is a celebration that has been held since 1903.  Through the years, with continued support and numerous volunteers, it has grown to be an all weekend event.  For many years, the highlight of the social life in Canton was its "Day Off."  During the last of the nineteenth century, the Ladies Aid Society of the Church of the Assumption, would sponsor a church supper on August 15th which is the Feast Day of the Assumption in the Catholic Liturgy,  In 1903 the leader of the Canton Bank, Percy Young, offered to bring a band to entertain during the dinner.  The following year the celebration moved downtown and on August 15th 1904 the whole town sponsored a day long festival, the first "Canton Day Off."  By the first world war, Canton's Day Off had become a regional event and special trains were run to bring out-of-town visitors. Festivities were increased to include county Championship baseball games, speakers, merry-go-rounds, aerialist acts, and evening dances at the town hall.

Various activities and events will be held all weekend.  The events include bean bag tournaments, BBQ contest, Bloody Mary Contest, Pancake Breakfast, Bingo, Music, Bounce Houses and many other activities for the whole family to enjoy.

4-H Market Livestock Auction

4-H is a very well known organization here in the southeastern part of Minnesota.  Kids take on the responsibility of different projects and working with their livestock all year long.  This organization builds hardworking, dedicated and well rounded individuals and First Southeast Bank is a strong advocate of the 4-H program.  We show our support by being involved in the 4-H market livestock premium auction.  First Southeast Bank will purchase a premium for the animal the kids have brought to the County Fair.  This way, part of the money goes to the 4-H program and part of it goes to the kids for their hard work.  This is a way First Southeast Bank can recognize the kids and the organization they represent.

4th of July in Harmony

Harmony loves to celebrate the 4th of July and First Southeast Bank employees have a fun time participating in the town’s celebration.  Sometimes we have a float in the parade.  Sometimes we volunteer at various activities around town.

We collaborate with the Harmony Fire Fighters' and co-sponsor the fireworks display every year. Harmony has one of the finest fireworks dispalys around.

We unite with Harmony Enterprises (HECO) and co-sponsor the Jim Busta Band each year. The band was in the parade along with playing enjoyable music in the park after the parade. Guests were able to bring a chair, sit down, relax and have a great time.

Overall, the 4th of July celebration is a very fun experience.

PAST HISTORY:
2015 we co-sponsored the Spudmobile. Guests were able to walk through the fabulous bus filled with potato history
